student quality of life

Initiatives at Argillite Elementary School provided books and brought the arts to the community. At the beginning of the school year, new books, dictionaries and backpacks were distributed at the annual back to school bash. Also, students and teachers were able to experience the works of Mark Twain through “The BIG READ,” an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts. Students received a free book and viewed a live performance at Argillite Elementary of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’ produced by the Paramount Arts Center. Argillite Elementary School  teacher Clara Nemeth attended a workshop on teaching the works of Mark Twain. Along with the lesson plans, the school received a set of books to use for years to come.
