summer feeding & reading program
A summer feeding and reading program targeting the students and families living in the Cherokee Lake neighborhood of Greenup County is collaborative effort between Argillite Elementary Family Resource and Youth Service Center and Our Lady of Bellefonte Hosptial. The program utilized the federal summer feeding program to provide lunch and snacks for participants. Activities included reading programs and visits by the Greenup County Library book mobile and the school librarian. The participants had the opportunity to visit the mobile library and attend story time in their neighborhood. Various art projects, a variety of games, free books and summer fun packs were available to the students attending the free program.
