The mission of the Family Support Center is to:

  • Create an environment that is family-focused, parent-driven and child-centered to encourage parents and their children to learn, grow and develop new skills
  • Give families the opportunity to experience a positive and healthy environment where they can receive support and encouragement.
  • Help families make the best choices to become self-sufficient with the aid of appropriate services.
  • Provide opportunities for parents and their children to make positive connections with community organizations.

The Family Support Center provides resources for young, low-income families. The Center provides a full range of services to assist expectant mothers and parents with children ages birth to 47 months. Services include parenting and child developmental education, employment readiness training that includes GED/ABE classes, resume writing, interviewing skills and career counseling, and health education. The Center also provides on-site developmental childcare in an age appropriate setting for the children of participants as well as a Home Visiting Program.
