our healthy community

Marble Hill, located inside the NW Bronx, is a densely populated, five city-block neighborhood. Collaborating organizations and government agencies support community-led planning to improve the quality of life for all residents. In 2008, neighborhood residents coalesced around a common vision for a “Healthy Marble Hill” and established the following as priorities: youth empowerment, senior services, small business development, urban environmentalism, transportation, housing, nutrition, and food security. The efforts of neighborhood residents dovetail with the priority initiatives identified by local Bronx Community Board 8 [CB8], the Office of the Bronx Borough President, and New York City Council. The community recognizes the synergy of working together while focusing on existing competencies to build momentum and achieve systemic change.
